Listen
It’ll be alright, she says
The little voice in my head
Of who I try to be
Beyond  all frailty

Peace, she says
And let serenity linger
As if there’s beauty in this
As if I weren’t eroding away
Snowman in the rain

It’ll all come together, she thinks
And i’m afraid these are lies
And I’m afraid that they’re not
So desperate are the small desires
So humble when we’re sure to be denied
Living at the knife’s edge
And it’s sweet and it’s sharp

And if I’m slowly coming apart
If I’m slowly bleeding through the seams
It’ll all be quiet and secret
And no one will see what’s missing
Aching in dreams

Lovely. The rhyme scheme is beautiful. There's a kind of haunting echo...oh, it's so hard to talk about it in words. I really like this.

Hope things are going better for you? Maybe if life settles out a bit, creativity will return. Of course, they always say adversity --> creativity, and from the movie bios of famous painters I've seen (Basquiat, Pollock, Francis Bacon--that last one is great btw, Love is the Devil) it seems to be true, but I don't find it's true in my own life, to the extent that I exercise any creativity, that is.

Speaking of, I just might use some of my soon-to-be newly-free time to try my hand again at fanfic. Inspire me, please.
